#4700 – Jehovah Jireh

Good morning people who trust in the provision of God for every need

Genesis 22:13-14 NIV Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a ram caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”

The Bible has translated Jehovah Jireh (KJV) into ‘The Lord Will Provide.’ This is indeed true; God will provide for His children.

But in the Hebrew, Jehovah Jireh means ‘God sees.’ Jireh starts with God seeing, not God providing.

I’m not splitting hairs here, I’m rightly handling the Word of God, and it is powerful.

In our lack, something our starting point is “Nobody knows my trouble, my need, my lack, my pain; nobody sees what I am going through.”

But the absolute truth of God’s Word is, when we are walking in submission and obedience to God, He sees!!! And as a result of His seeing, He will provide what we need!

May our true needs always be fully satisfied by the God who sees.
