#4693 – Continual Infilling

Good morning people who are continually filled with the Holy Spirit

If you are a believer in and follower of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit lives in you.

1 Corinthians 6:19 NIV Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own.

This is glorious! If we are born again, we have the Holy Spirit living in us!

But that’s not the end. This beautiful journey with God includes being filled, and continually being filled.

The disciples had encountered Jesus, followed Him and been commissioned by Him. Then on the day of Pentecost, they were filled (baptised) in the Holy Spirit.

These men and women of God who were filled continued to draw near to God. Not because He was far away, but because He responds to hunger.

The same is true with us and the Holy Spirit. Our hunger and desire for Him is a release valve for a continual infilling. We are full, yet we can leak. No, He doesn’t leave, but I know for myself that I can drift, get over comfortable and even become complacent.

In these times, I need to stir myself up in the Holy Spirit, yield to Him, desire Him, honour Him and receive a fresh and deep infilling.

Maybe John the Baptist put it best when He said about Jesus:

John 3:30 NKJV He must increase, but I must decrease.

The same is true of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

Remember, He is like a river, and rivers flow.
