#4675 – Mature in God

Good morning people who grow up in the ways of God

Today is my 48th birthday. 48 is just a number, and each year, another number is added.

Getting older is not the same as maturity.

Some younger people are much more mature in God than some older people.

Some brand new Christians are more mature in God than some who have been saved for decades.

What’s my point?

I believe God is looking for a people – young and old – who are growing in maturity in Christ!

Maturity comes from intimacy and obedience. (Please read that again).

There are no mature Christians who are not growing in intimacy with God through the priority of spending time with Him.

Equally, there are no mature Christians who are not obeying what God is saying as the priority of their life and their decisions.

Here’s three scriptures that speak to me about maturity:

Luke 2:52 NIV And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

1 Timothy 4:12 NIV Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

Ephesians 4:15 NIV Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.

Are you maturing in God or just getting naturally older?
