#4644 – Increased Faith

Good morning people who become larger in your faithful obedience

Hebrews 11:32 NIV And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets.

As we consider Gideon’s story, I love seeing the growth in his life as he responded in faith:

He started full of questions and fear, and he ended up as a mighty and bold warrior!

Listen to these words about Gideon:

Judges 6:34-35 NIV Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Gideon, and he blew a trumpet, summoning the Abiezrites to follow him. He sent messengers throughout Manasseh, calling them to arms, and also into Asher, Zebulun and Naphtali, so that they too went up to meet them.

Judges 7:17 NIV “Watch me,” he told them. “Follow my lead. When I get to the edge of the camp, do exactly as I do.”

And look where he ends up in this part of his story:

Judges 8:19-21 NIV Gideon replied, “Those were my brothers, the sons of my own mother. As surely as the Lord lives, if you had spared their lives, I would not kill you.” Turning to Jether, his oldest son, he said, “Kill them!” But Jether did not draw his sword, because he was only a boy and was afraid. Zebah and Zalmunna said, “Come, do it yourself. ‘As is the man, so is his strength.’ ” So Gideon stepped forward and killed them, and took the ornaments off their camels’ necks.

Like Gideon, may your steps of faith and obedience see you enlarged in your spirit.
