Good morning people who discover their path
This little verse contains so much! Here’s another thought.
Psalm 23:3b He guides me in paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake.
I would have written this verse ‘He guides me in the path of righteousness for His Name’s sake’. But it doesn’t say that. It says ‘paths’; plural.
Now let me clarify where I am not heading here. I am not advocating many pathways to God; there is one and only one and that is through Jesus Christ. I am also not saying there are different character standards for different people; although the Bible clearly identifies standards for different leaders and groups. Therefore I am not giving license to people who compromise and think certain requirements of God’s Word do not apply to them.
But it does say ‘paths’.
I believe we get ourselves entangled when we try to do the right thing but try to do it the way it works for someone else and not for us. Sure it might work for us, but then again maybe we aren’t meant to walk that path.
We need to discover our own pathway to God. God does want to connect with you but He may want to do it completely different than He does it with your friends. God does want us to walk in righteousness but the pathway there may be different to someone else we know. We must discover our path and then confidently walk on it while always following the guiding of the Holy Spirit.
