#452 – He Leads Me

Good morning people God leads

Psalm 23:2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quiet waters.

It’s ok to slow down sometimes. It’s ok to stop and smell the roses. It’s ok to take a day off (in fact God tells us we have to). It’s ok to go for a walk and be refreshed. It’s ok to take it easy. It’s ok to stroll beside quiet waters.

God is not in a rush. Sure He has a plan and time is short but He hasn’t lost control. Jesus when He was on earth often withdrew to quiet places to simply be with the Father. It was good enough and necessary for Jesus, it’s good enough and necessary for us.

God leads us to this place. He doesn’t make us yet if we neglect that leading then don’t be surprised if one day there is a forcing; a ‘making us to lie down’. I reckon it’s easier to allow God to lead us daily beside these beautiful, refreshing quiet waters than to come to a time where we are forced to STOP.

He wants to meet us, refresh us, empower us, envision us and renew us. It’s beside quiet waters that He wants to fill our tanks and bandage our wounds.

Psalm 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God.

‘Be still’ here means ‘cease, hush, stop’. Being still should be a part of our daily disciplines; somewhere, somehow, at least for a short period of time, it needs to happen.

When was the last time you let God lead you beside quiet waters?
