Good morning people who are alive in Christ and dead to sin
Due to the fact that we still face temptation as Christians, many falsely believe that we are still wrestling with a sinful nature. But this is impossible if the Spirit of the living God has taken up residence in us!
Galatians 2:20 NIV I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
I haven’t crucified my physical body (I’m still physically alive), but I have crucified my sinful nature (my pre-Christ nature). That nature is no longer alive!! Why? Because Christ lives in me through the Person of the Holy Spirit!,
This is why Paul’s words in the following verse are so important for us all today:
Romans 6:11 NIV In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.
We need to understand that we are not dying to sin; we are dead to sin! We are not coming alive to God in Christ Jesus; we are alive to God in Christ Jesus!!!
So where do the temptations come from?
They come from outside of us as fiery darts from an enemy who hates us. They can also be triggered physically by our human brain that is still being ‘transformed by the washing of the water by the Word of God.
But temptation most definitely does not come from a sinful nature if we are born again of God’s incorruptible seed!
If you are in Christ Jesus, you have the Holy Spirit living in you, and your core nature is now His nature!
This is why the following scripture is the truth that we all need to realign to today:
John 8:36 NIV So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.
