#4478 – In Our Trouble

Good morning people who are always ready for God to move through you

Matthew 14:11-14 NIV His head was brought in on a platter and given to the girl, who carried it to her mother. Johns disciples came and took his body and buried it. Then they went and told Jesus. When Jesus heard what had happened, he withdrew by boat privately to a solitary place. Hearing of this, the crowds followed him on foot from the towns. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick.

Jesus and John were cousins, as well as ministry contemporaries. They had significant moments together, including the revelation that John received about who Jesus was, and the baptism of Jesus. There was a love, both naturally and spiritually.

So when John was murdered, Jesus was deeply troubled in His spirit. His heart ached and He was hurting. He needed some time alone.

Yet the crowds tracked Him down and found Him.

And what did Jesus do?

He was moved with His Father’s heart for them and He ministered to them.

Even in our brokenness and pain, God can still use us to do other people good.
