Good morning people who represent God by doing what you say you will do

Matthew 12:36 NIV But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken.

Sometimes our focus for speech is simply not saying “bad” words. While this is part of speech that honours God, it is very important to God and people that we don’t speak empty words.

An empty word is something you say that you will do, but you don’t do it. This is what the Bible says about this:

Matthew 5:37 NKJV But let your ‘Yes’ be ‘Yes,’ and your ‘No,’ ‘No.’ For whatever is more than these is from the evil one.

An empty word is about a lack of integrity. And it is a big deal because it is not like our God, and therefore, it is not an accurate representation of who He is.

Numbers 23:19 NIV God is not human, that he should lie, not a human being, that he should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he promise and not fulfill?
