#4463 – Covenant Christians

Good morning people who people who lay down your life for the cause of Christ

God desires covenant Christians, not convenient Christians.

Matthew 16:24 NIV Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.”

In a world where ‘opting out’ is easy and it is all too common, covenant has been replaced by convenience. People stay as long as it suits them.

But this ought not to be with the people of God when it comes to our relationship with God and our commitment to His cause.

The death of Jesus was not convenient for Him. Jesus died because of the covenant He has with His Father.

Through the doorway of salvation, we have entered into the same covenant.

Being a follower of Jesus actually means that we follow Jesus. I know this is deep, but it truly is the essence of what we are called to do – follow Jesus.

This cannot happen if we live our lives based on convenience or comfort. There must be an element of denying ourselves if we are truly going to be disciples of Jesus and if our lives are truly going to point the world to the love of God.

It’s time to return to covenant with God.
