#4456 – Praying & Talking

Good morning people who honour God with the words that you speak and type

Psalms 19:14 NIV May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.

What we say and what we think about should be pleasing to God. Stop and really think about this today.

Too often, what we say is primarily focused on what people think. We choose the right words, we pick the right time. Sometimes we manipulate others with our words, or use our words to cut people down or to put them in their place. Our words are powerful, but sometimes the power is misused and misplaced.

Here’s a good rule to follow:

If you haven’t prayed about it, don’t talk about it.

This would help many of us and change the course of many conversations. And I’m not just talking about the words that come out of our lips; I’m also talking about the words that are typed with our fingers. This simple rule would make a huge difference on social media!

Today, I have a simple encouragement (maybe challenge) to us today. In every situation, ask yourself this question:

Is what I’m about to say and what I’m about to type pleasing to God?

If it is, say it. If it’s not, don’t.
