Good morning those whose God goes before them
I feel a phrase that I believe is God’s intention for our lives. Our God not only goes ‘with us’ but He goes ‘before us’. Let me explain.
God went before the children of Israel and led them through the wilderness. Jesus went back to the Father and told us that He is preparing a place for us. Many men and women of God have asked God to ‘go before them’ and prepare the hearts of people, cities and nations before they go and minister. The fruit is multiplied exponentially.
My family and I are about to head off on a ministry trip to Cambodia and I feel compelled to not only pray for the anointing of God when we are there but to ask God to go before us and prepare the way. I’m asking God to prepare people’s hearts to receive the Word of God. I’m asking God to go before and smooth out any potential problems. I’m asking God’s Spirit to start moving before we get there. I’m asking God to do what we cannot do supernaturally by His Spirit. I am fully convinced that God will do this because He loves people and He responds to faith-filled prayers and expectations. I fully believe God wants to go before and prepare the way for us. Our preparation hasn’t been optimal due to circumstances beyond our control but I know, I am fully convinced, that God will go before us and do far more than we could ever do with our best efforts. I now rest in that.
How about in your life? That business meeting you have later today, the conflict resolution meeting you have coming up, the job interview, the missions trip, the family get together that you are dreading…
How could it look if God went before you and softened people’s hearts, challenged their thinking, changed their opinions, encountered their lives before you even stepped into the room? I believe this is His desire and He’s waiting to be asked. Go for it. Take a moment right now and sincerely ask God to go before you and prepare the way. I look forward to hearing good things!
