#4438 – Be Different

Good morning people whose life is a living testimony and example of Jesus

In addition to praying for the world and loving the lost, we are called to be different from the world.

Jesus literally loved people from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light! He did not do this by becoming like them. He did this by being so radically differently, yet being completely loving.

We have confused the following scripture:

1 John 2:15-16 NIV Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.

When we are told not to love the world, it is not talking about the people in the world. We are told to love them! It is however talking about the culture and sinfulness of the world’s system, including the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life.

In order to truly love the lost into the kingdom, we must be different from them. If we are the same, there’s no reason for them to change. Jesus was different; completely different! His life demanded questions to be asked. Ours should too.

It’s time for the Church to be the transformation that the world needs.
