Good morning people who hear the heart of what people are saying

Hear the words people say, but listen to the heart.

Sometimes I have said something, and been misunderstood. Many times I have heard something, and misunderstood the person speaking (and all the married people said, “Yup!”)

I don’t want to complicate the simple thought I feel God wants to get our attention on today. So here it is again: Hear the words people say, but listen to the heart.

What does it take to truly hear what is in people’s hearts?

A shift of focus from talking to listening.

A shift of focus from making statements to asking questions.

A shift of focus from self to the other person.

A shift of focus from winning an argument to honouring the relationship.

A shift of focus from criticising to encouraging.
