#4416 – Facing Facts

Good morning people who have questions but don’t step away from God

Sometimes Christians are accused of not facing the facts. Sometimes we are accused of hiding behind our faith. Sometimes both of these are true.

I absolutely love the truth that I see in this scripture:

Romans 4:18-21 NIV Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, So shall your offspring be.” Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarahs womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.”

It’s ok to face facts, but we must not weaken in our faith and waver through unbelief. This is not talking about having a moment of doubt – we all have them. The word ‘waver’ literally means ‘separate thoroughly; to withdraw from’.

Abraham faced the facts. Abraham had questions and even doubt. But he did not withdraw from the God who gave him the incredible promise.

When the facts are undeniable and the challenge seems impossible, it’s time to step towards the God who is faithful and who is for you.
