#4408 – Choose Praise

Good morning people who wake up and consider the goodness of God

Psalms 34:1 NIV I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.

Today we will choose to put on either the garment of praise, or the garment of complaint.

There is always something to be grateful for and to give thanks for. If our circumstances don’t naturally incite praise, our God is always worthy of our spoken words of praise.

Praise is not reserved for times of ease and pleasure. Praise is not a feelings-based automatic response.

But nor are complaints reserved for times of devastation and great pain. Complaints are not a circumstance-based response.

Praise or complaint can come out of our mouth at any time. It is the posture of our heart and the focus of our gaze that determines which we speak throughout our day.

So, today, I choose to put on praise – not only when it goes well, but also when my feelings try to demand complaints.

Will you join me?
