#4401 – God Loves People

Good morning people who represent the heart of our loving Father

Today’s BIY is the most simple yet the most important one I can ever write.

Here it is: God loves people.

In a complicated world, we must never complicate this foundational and life-giving truth.

Those people who are different to you, who you might not like, who have taken advantage of you, who you may have written off – God loves them.

Those people who theologically are opposed to you, who stand for what you hate and hate what you stand for, those people who are the greatest antagonists of the Gospel – God loves them.

Those people who don’t deserve to be loved by God (oh wait, that is all of us), those people who society has deemed unlovable, those who have done the most heinous of crimes, those for whom there is no redemption in human terms – God loves them.

God is not soft on sin but He is big on people. While there’s still breath, there’s still hope. God still loves to turn a Saul into a Paul; persecutors into apostles; tyrants into testimonies.

And our part is to love and to pray.

May we all partner with the God of love who came to seek and save the lost.

John 3:17 NIV For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.

2 Peter 3:9 NIV The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
