#4371 – God’s Strength

Good morning people who find your strength in Almighty God

I see a soldier, with a drawn sword, standing on top of a hill, directing the troops in battle.

Soldiers don’t always feel strong.

I wonder how many times soldiers in a physical war don’t feel strong? I’m sure it is plenty of times. These same soldiers still go out and fight battles, many times overcoming relentless feelings of inadequacy. Many find a strength that they did not know they had.

Here is a powerful declaration from God’s Word for us as spiritual soldiers:

Ephesians 6:10 NIV Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.

Soldiers don’t always feel strong, but they can always be strong in the Lord.

But too many times we are waiting to ‘feel strong’ before we engage in the battle. I have been there many times, and I have discovered something: If I wait for the feelings to change, I often lose the battle. Why? Because my inactivity reveals my belief that it is about my strength, not about God’s strength.

The apostle Paul who suffered terribly and suffered frequently put it this way:

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NIV But He said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christs power may rest on me. That is why, for Christs sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Even when we are weak, He is strong, and He lives in us and loves to shine through us. When we don’t let feelings rule, but we lean into Christ’s strength through the power of the Holy Spirit Who lives in us, God gets the glory!!

I declare, you are strong enough in Christ today!
