#4366 – A Spiritual Soldier

Good morning people who are called to be strong in the Lord

I see a soldier, with a drawn sword, standing on top of a hill, directing the troops in battle.

I see a soldier.

Don’t get caught up on the word soldier. Although there are not many scriptural references to the people of God being soldiers and an army, there are many scriptures that talk about us fighting battles from a place of being strong in the Lord.

Here’s what the apostle Paul told his son in the faith Timothy:

2 Timothy 2:3 NIV Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus.

A few verses later we read the following:

2 Timothy 2:7 NIV Reflect on what I am saying, for the Lord will give you insight into all this.

Many today kick back against military words when it comes to Christians, and the reason for this is because of the misuse of force by Christians and by other religions.

But we must not throw out the truth because of the excess and error. There is something that we need to hear today in the Church, and we are going to lean into it more over the coming days.
