#4351 – Letting God Lead

Good morning people who let God truly lead in your life and work

Luke 5:2-3 NIV He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat.

We focus a lot on God being a God of invitation. Our focus is that He does not violate free will, and indeed this is true.

But if we are not careful, we can make it too much about whether we want something or not, rather than what God wants to do.

In this scripture above, it does not read like this: ‘Jesus saw the two boats and He asked Simon if he minded if He got into his boat and if it was ok if He used it to preach from.” This didn’t happen.

Jesus got in Simon’s boat before He asked him to put out a little from the shore. And then rather than fishing (because that’s what fishing boats are for), Jesus sat down and preached to the people on the shore (where He had just came from).

Are we people that truly let God lead and do what He wants in our lives and in our livelihood?

And are we willing for Jesus to change the purpose in our lives and the way that we do things?

Let’s let God lead.
