#4349 – Whom God Wills

Good morning people who don’t disqualify those God has called

Luke 5:1-2 NIV One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets.

Sometimes the people God calls are not even in the crowd.

Many people were crowding around Jesus and they were listening to the word of God. Surely it would be from this crowd that Jesus would call people to follow Him?

Not so.

Peter, James and John were not in the crowd listening to Jesus. They were at the water’s edge, washing their nets.

In context, they were in their place of employment when Jesus called beyond the crowds who were around Him to a few who were working.

Your job is as much a place of calling and choosing as any crowd. Jesus wants to meet you there, call you there and empower you there.
