Good morning people who love people towards God’s goodness
2 Timothy 2:25-26 NIV Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.
What a beautiful and powerful scripture!
Everyone will do things wrong at times. None of us are perfect. We all will need to receive mercy and be forgiven by others on this journey of life.
It is equally true that other people will need to receive mercy from us and be forgiven by us. People will do the wrong things and we will be let down.
So what are we all to do?
Well, I love the simple yet incredible wisdom of the opening words of this scripture: ‘Opponents must be gently instructed.’
Don’t focus on the word ‘opponents’ but rather focus on the words ‘gently instructed’.
This applies to our marriages, our parenting, our places of employment, our “enemies”…this applies to life.
How is your gentleness when issues need to be addressed?
