Good morning people of passionate praise
Luke 24:52-53 Then they worshipped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God.
‘The disciples stayed continually at the temple praising God’; there is a lesson here for us today.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honour God with your body.
The Bible says we are a temple of the Holy Spirit. Sure we say we go ‘to’ Church but the truth is we ‘are’ the Church and when we ‘go’ to Church we are meeting ‘with’ the Church; not ‘in’ a Church. Worship took place in a physical temple, now we are that temple and praise and worship can be, and should be continual.
There’s a line from an old song that says ‘praise looks good on you’. It’s true. There is something attractive about people who continually praise. They are free from anger, bitterness, resentment, envy and the many things that cause people to be joy-less. Praise looks good on people and it’s powerful.
How’s praise going in your life? How often do you praise each day? What’s more automatic for you: praise or complaining? Why not take a few minutes now and verbalise your praise to God for some of the wonderful things He has done.
