#4256 – Joseph’s Tomb

Good morning people who give God your best

How far up the priority list is God in our lives? What place is reserved for Him?

Matthew 27:57-60 NIV As evening approached, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who had himself become a disciple of Jesus. Going to Pilate, he asked for Jesus’ body, and Pilate ordered that it be given to him. Joseph took the body, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, and placed it in his own new tomb that he had cut out of the rock. He rolled a big stone in front of the entrance to the tomb and went away.

In the period of time when this occurred, a tomb was more than a burial place. A tomb for a rich person was tied to their significance and was very important to them. A tomb was a place prepared especially for the owner.

It’s into the tomb which Joseph had prepared for himself that He laid the Son of God. Joseph gave up that which was his for the One who was Supreme.

In our own lives, there are significant things that we have prepared for ourselves. We have studied, worked diligently, started a career or a new business and we have given our all to make something happen.

Are we willing to place Jesus in the most significant places in our lives?

In your business, is Jesus in the place of Supremacy? In your family, is Jesus in the place of Supremacy? In your Church, is Jesus in the place of Supremacy? In your hobbies, yes even your hobbies, is Jesus in the place of Supremacy?

I know you’ve worked hard to be where you are but we must never forget it was Jesus who gave us the gift of life. He alone is the heir to every throne in our lives.
