Good morning people who believe and receive God’s Word
There’s a great story in John 4:46-54. There was a royal officer with a sick son. He asked Jesus to come and heal him. Jesus’ response was interesting. He said “Unless you people see miraculous signs and wonders, you will never believe”. Instead of getting upset or walking away, this officer asks again. This time Jesus said “You may go. Your son will live.” Now have a look at what it says.
John 4:50-23 The man took Jesus at His word and departed. While he was still on the way, his servants met him with the news that his boy was living. When he inquired as to the time when his son got better, they said to him, “The fever left him yesterday at the seventh hour.” Then the father realised that this was the exact time at which Jesus had said to him, “Your son will live.” So he and all his household believed.
The greatest thing we can do is take Jesus at His word. This is what faith is. We don’t wait until we see the evidence; we believe Him now. We don’t get disappointed and disillusioned; we believe Him again. We live like the three Hebrews who declared, “Our God can and He will but even if He doesn’t, we will not worship anyone else”.
The miracle took place at the exact time the officer took Jesus at His word. He didn’t see it then but it happened then. Your miracle happens at the time of taking Jesus at His word. You might not see the result immediately and you may never see it as you want or think it should happen, but God is honoured at that point. It is always the exercising of our faith that pleases God, not the results. Maybe our miracle is waiting for us to take Jesus at His word?
