Good morning people who live in peace

I want to encourage us all today to live from this verse.

Hebrews 12:14 Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

This verse is clear; we are to make ‘every effort’ to live in peace with everyone. This means it’s not always easy. In fact, sometimes it is nigh on impossible. To go a step further, sometimes it is impossible but look at what God’s Word says.

Romans 12:17-18 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

There will be times where regardless of what you do, you will not get on with some people. This however is the exception and not the rule. Yet even in these times, we are still told to make every effort and not to repay anyone evil for evil.

As Christians I believe that we need to live our lives for God and for the benefit of others. We can’t do things simply because ‘it is our right and if they have a problem well that’s just too bad’. This thinking is immature and wrong. We are responsible for the message our lives declare to others and we are definitely responsibility for the effort we make in every relationship.

Come on my friends; today let’s make every effort to live in peace with all men. Let’s honour God by how we honour each other, even when people don’t deserve it. Our lives may be the Bible verse that makes an eternal difference in someone’s life today.
