Good morning people who yield fully to the Lordship of Jesus

3 John 1:2 NKJV Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

The word ‘soul’ is not primarily talking about our ‘mind, will and emotions’. This is normally what we say when referring to the soul, as opposed to our spirit or body.

Yet this is not what this scripture is talking about. Further to that, this is not actually how the Oxford Dictionary defines the word ‘soul’.

The primary meaning of the Greek word translated ‘soul’ in this verse means ‘spirit’ (Strong’s G5590). In the Oxford Dictionary, the first definition we read is ‘the spiritual of immaterial part of a human being, regarded as immortal’.

We need a fresh revelation that we are spirit first, not mind, emotions or body. The order is so important because there is a Biblical flow that is connected to truth.

Therefore, a correct interpretation of this verse is that a prospering of our spirit is where all other prospering is to flow from, including in our mind and emotions.
