#4167 – Constant Needs

Good morning people who are serving God

In John 3:22-36 we read an account of both John the Baptist and Jesus baptising people in different places. Now have a look at these verses.

John 3:25-26 An argument developed between some of John’s disciples and a certain Jew (certain Jews) over the matter of ceremonial washing. They came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, that man who was with you on the other side of the Jordan – the one you testified about – well, he is baptising, and everyone is going to him.”

Hmmm…interesting words.

I see some jealousy here. I see a sense of hey, that’s your job John and he’s taking over! I believe the same attitude can so easily creep into our lives today.

Here’s something I observe from this passage: there will always be needs and we can all be involved in meeting them.

John 3:22-23 After this, Jesus and His disciples went out into the Judean countryside, where He spent some time with them, and baptised. Now John also was baptising at Aenon near Salim, because there was plenty of water, and people were constantly coming to be baptised.

Ensure you don’t miss the last part of these verses: and people were constantly coming to be baptised.

This is not a competition but about meeting needs. Forget about my right or their right, my role or their role. Let’s all play our part and meet the endless amount of needs there are in this huge and needy world.
