#4125 – God Is Nice

Good morning people who have the most amazing God

The children of Israel came to a place that had one spring. The name of this spring was Marah which meant bitter and that’s exactly what the water was. They could not drink it (Exodus 15:23).

A few verses later we read an absolutely incredible verse that speaks volumes to me about how nice God is. Check this out.

Exodus 15:27 Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs and seventy palm trees, and they camped there near the water.

God in His goodness led them from Marah, a place with only one spring and that was undrinkable because it was bitter, to Elim, a place with twelve springs that were all drinkable and lovely.

But wait, there’s more!

It’s like God says, “You want this one spring? I can give you twelve!!! Oh, and how would you like a bunch of palm trees too? How about seventy of them?!!”

Elim means palm trees and a place in the desert. This was an oasis, it was like a holiday destination! It was a sign of God’s niceness in the midst of a wilderness.

God is still the same today. He is nice; very nice, and I pray that this week you feel a touch of God’s niceness in your life.
