Good morning people who advance through the rhythm of rest
The last method of advancement I received from Father was a statement, not a picture. It is one that many of us struggle with, but it is essential for advancement nonetheless. It is:
- Be still and see the salvation of our God.
Here’s a scripture that articulates it so clearly, yet it is so counter-intuitive to many of us, especially as Christian leaders:
Exodus 14:13-14 NIV Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
God, obviously You mean we need only to fight hard? Surely?
This prophetic verse for us today also articulates something Father needs us to hear:
2 Chronicles 20:15 NIV He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.
Rest is not something weak people do, it’s something obedient people do.
Rest is one of God’s most powerful methods of advancement when it comes to the kingdom of God.
I’ll expound on this some more tomorrow.
