#407 – Past Perspective

Good morning people who God has worked in

As I look back in my life I see two things.

I see disappointments. There are things in my life and in yours that we wish we could change. The reality is we can’t. The truth about our past disappointments is God has forgiven us if that is what was needed or He’s given us the power to forgive others and be free if that is what’s needed. Disappointments do not need to be a chain that keeps us bound. God’s power is greater than our past; it is the truth and one that I need to often remind myself of often. How about you?

I also see growth. In the moment sometimes I can question how much I have really changed. This is because of my own insecurities but it is also because our adversary, the devil, is the ‘accuser of the brethren’. In other words, his desire is to keep people focused on their failure and not on their growth. Maybe for some of us today we need to step back and get a view from Mt Perspective and praise God for how far He has brought us by His grace. Oh how much I love Him and am grateful for His complete work in my life.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Philippians 1:6 He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

Let’s never lose sight of what God has already done in us. Praise be to His glorious Name!
