Good morning people of the Word

We need to be brainwashed and it needs to be by God’s precious Word.

Ephesians 5:25-27 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the Word, and to present her to Himself as a radiant Church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

What powerful words and life-changing truth. I pray the depth of this passage resounds in our hearts today.

God gave Himself up for us. In other words, He died a cruel and agonizing death upon an old rugged cross, not just to scrape us in to heaven somehow but to so radically change our lives here on earth that we will reflect Him well. God’s desire is not ‘barely saved’ but a holy, clean Church, one that is without stain or any type of blemish. This is God’s desire for you and for me.

How does this happen? It can only be through changing the way we think which can only come through the Word of God. We must consume God’s Holy Word. We must eat it, devour it, meditate on it, absorb it and make it the blueprint of our lives and the textbook of our thinking. Occasional reflection will not produce the maturity that we pray for. We need the Word of God to transform us, to change us, to empower us for holy living.

Joshua 1:8 Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.

“Father give us a hunger for your Word today. May it wash my way of thinking so that I might think right in order to live right and enjoy a wonderful relationship with you”.
