Good morning people who are going on a deeper journey of faith with truth

The whole start of the Book of Matthew is the genealogies of Jesus Christ, and as we’ve seen, it starts by drawing our attention to Jesus being ‘the Son of David’ and ‘the Son of Abraham’ (Matthew 1:1). It then steps through the genealogies all the way to this verse:

Matthew 1:16 NIV And Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, and Mary was the mother of Jesus who is called the Messiah.

And here’s my thought:

It ends up at Joseph, not at Mary.

Jesus came physically through Mary and His seed came from the Holy Spirit, not from Joseph.

Jesus had no natural part of Joseph, and yet the whole genealogy of Jesus and His connection to David and Abraham and this line of descendants leads to Joseph, not Mary.

As I sit and meditate on this for awhile, here’s what I feel:

This reality shows us that what Father does spiritually far exceeds what we can comprehend naturally.

Understanding doesn’t determine truth.

Faith is required.

Some more leaning into this mystery is needed tomorrow.
