Good morning people God wants to rebuild
Our starting place with God is not “I’m ok, in fact I’m not really that bad but it would be good to have You in my life God to top me up and give me that extra boost that is needed”. Our starting place is “I am nothing without you. I have built my life and I need You to break me down and start over as You want.”
I’m reminded of the thought of God being the Potter and we are the clay. The Potter either starts from scratch or needs to completely break down the vessel and start again in order to rebuild something better. I’m also reminded of the picture in John 15:1-2 where we are told if we are productive we will be cut back and if we are not we will be cut back. Then I read the following verse.
Luke 20:18 Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, but he on whom it falls will be crushed.
Do you want the good news? In our lives we will be broken or crushed but thankfully it is our choice. If we fall on the Rock, yes we will be broken to pieces but God’s loving intention is that He rebuild us and give us new life! Praise God for His goodness. If we don’t fall on the Rock, the Rock will fall on us and that crushing will not lead to being rebuilt.
So two things to keep in mind today: God breaks down and rebuilds those He loves and today, if you haven’t submitted to God, I encourage you to do so. It’s only as we submit that our broken lives can be rebuilt.
