Good morning faithful servants of God
Luke 19:26 He replied, “I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away.”
On the surface this could be a very discouraging scripture for people who feel they don’t have much to offer. Maybe you feel like you don’t have many gifts or abilities and now you think “Great, even the little I have will be taken away”.
We must read this verse in context. This passage is about a king who gave money (talents) to his servants and he went on a journey. When he returned he expected them to have invested what they were given and increased it. The one who were given ten, increased by ten. The one who was given five, increased by five. But the one who was given one, did nothing with his money.
The point here was not the amount but rather what each person did with what they were given. Therefore, in context, the principle of this parable is simple: what you have been given, you are expected to use and multiple for others.
Has God given you gifts that you are not using? I want to encourage you today, whether you have many great gifts or if you think you don’t have much to offer, use your gifts to bless others. As you do, God will increase your capacity to be a blessing. May God greatly increase the influence of your life for His glory.
