Good morning friends of the all-powerful and creative God

Psalm 141:3 NIV Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips.

What comes out of our mouth is important.

We read here about ‘setting a guard over our mouth’.

Oh, how we all need to do this!

We need to protect others by taking careful responsibility for what comes out of our mouth. We need to guard our speech, and by doing so, protect others from poison that is so often contained in words.

This verse also talks about ‘keep watch over the door of our lips’.

Doors open into something else. So do our words.

There is no such thing as ‘throw-away’ words, and our words can shape and impact people’s lives in profound ways.

We need to be careful with our words because they have creative power.

We need to be careful with our words because we represent a loving Father.
