#3911 – Right Recalling

Good morning people who remember to recall the things of God

2 Peter 3:1-2 NIV Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Saviour through your apostles.

We want new revelation and “WOW!” moments, but sometimes what we need is reminders to recall the right things.

Many times in our lives, our greatest need is to stop and recall what God has said in the past.

For me, I know that some of the most powerful fuel to live a holy life is to recall and meditate on what God has already made so clear in His Word.

One of the things Peter wants to get our attention on is wholesome thinking. This is so important for the people of God.

We are responsible for our minds and what we choose to meditate on and dwell on. No, it absolutely is not always easy. But with God’s help, it’s imperative that we take responsibility for that which we choose to continue thinking about.

Wholesome thinking comes from right recalling, and right recalling is not recalling our past, but rather, recalling Who God is and what He has said.
