Good morning who turn on the light to overcome the darkness

Galatians 5:16 NIV So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

It does not say ‘Do not gratify the desires of the flesh so that you can walk in the Spirit’.

It’s the other way around; the right way around.

Too often we focus on not gratifying the desires of the flesh. While this is a great desire, the best way to do this is to do what the Bible says, and that is to focus primarily on ‘walking by the Spirit’. Order matters.

My Dad has always said: “The way to get darkness out of a room is to turn on the light.”

Galatians 5:25 NIV Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
