Good morning people with right priorities
When things go wrong, when we need wisdom, healing, breakthroughs, answers, friends…is God our Source of our Reserve? In other words, do we go to Him first or do we exhaust all natural options and then think “Well I have no other options I better go to God?” Maybe He’s not our last option but is He our first? It’s a challenging thought isn’t it.
I don’t want to complicate or unnecessarily add to this simple yet important thought this morning. I believe God is wanting to be our Source, our first choice, our Sufficiency.
He is waiting to be asked. You might say “Well He knows what I want and I need. He sees me trying and working hard. He should just do what I need because He knows I love Him.” I want to remind us all today that God is a Gentleman in the truest sense of the word. He waits for an invitation. He doesn’t want to force us; He wants us to desire Him. Let’s not blame God when we don’t ask Him.
We need to ask specifically. I’ve mentioned this before but it’s worth repeating. Too many times our prayers are very general. Our prayers often consist of phrases like “Lord please bless my business…Lord please move in this meeting…Lord we need You.” These are all good prayers but like the blind man that came to Jesus and cried out “Son of David, have mercy on me!”, Jesus, knowing He was blind and needed healing, asking him “What do you want Me to do for you?” Be specific in your prayers. “Lord I ask for a 20% increase in business by the end of the year…Lord please give me the strategy to accomplish the task…Lord would you open blind eyes and deaf ears in our meeting today and we ask for souls to be saved” Be specific.
Jesus wants to be our Source in all things.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.
