#388 – Where Do You Go?

Good morning people of God

During my quiet time I’ve just been singing a song that I used to sing when I was a teenager. I was just loving Jesus and the words prompted a question that we should all ask ourselves today. Here’s the song.

I go to the Rock of my salvation, I go to the Stone that the builders rejected

I run to the Mountain and the Mountain stands by me

When the earth all around me is sinking sand

On Christ the Solid Rock I stand

When I need a Shelter, when I need a Friend, I go to the Rock.

Where do we go in life when everything around us is sinking sand? Where do we go when we are going through a difficult time? Where do we go when our health is failing and the Doctor’s prognosis is not good? Where do we go when we are finding relationships difficult? Where do we go when we are feeling stressed because of financial pressures? Where do we go when we are concerned about our loved ones? Where do we go when we need a breakthrough in a certain area? Where do we go when we need wisdom in making decisions? Where do we go when we are hurt and have questions? Where do you go?

This song tells us to go to the Rock; His Name is Jesus. He is from everlasting to everlasting; He can always be relied upon. He is for us and not against us. He knows all things. He can be a powerful force to break through and He can be a Friend that is closer than a brother. When this world and all that is in it, is shifting, moving and uncertain, we have a Rock, an anchor that holds firm…but we must go to Him.
