Good morning people who don’t pray so that they can impress people

Matthew 6:5 NIV And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

Jesus said, “Don’t pray to be seen by others.”

In other words: Prayer is not to be used as a sign to others of how spiritual we are.

There’s no place for “Look at me!” when it comes to prayer.

The focus of our prayers is God’s glory and goodness, not our spirituality and visibility.

When it comes to prayer, our motivation matters.

When it comes to prayer, God is the focus, not us.
