#3778 – Testing & Trials

Good morning people who commit to the journey towards the prize

Psalm 26:2-3 NIV Test me, Lord, and try me, examine my heart and my mind; for I have always been mindful of Your unfailing love and have lived in reliance on Your faithfulness.

The true revelation of our reliance on God’s faithfulness is not when everything is going perfectly, but when God is testing us and leading us through trials.

“God wouldn’t do that Steve!”

Matthew 4:1 NIV Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

God doesn’t fear temptation like we do. He doesn’t see it as a negative to destroy, but as an opportunity for us to become mature and complete, lacking nothing (James 1:2-4).

And so King David, who didn’t do things perfectly but who had a heart after God, asked God to test him and try him.

Testing and trials are not about destroying us but about refining us.

Testing and trials don’t cause a reaction as much as they reveal our hearts.

“Father, help me to pass this test and trail in a way that honours you.”
