Good morning people who walk with a responsive God

Psalm 3:4 NIV I call out to the Lord, and He answers me from His holy mountain.

When we call, God answers. But we don’t always hear something, and this is what often trips us up.

I’ve heard it said recently, that when we don’t hear God answer us on something, it’s because He wants us to go back to something He has already said. Many times, this is true.

Too often, our problem is not that we don’t hear from God, but that we don’t hear what we want to hear from God.

I notice that this verse says that ‘God answers me from His holy mountain.’

As I read this, I am drawn towards the fact that God speaks from His elevated and divine perspective. This is wonderful…unless we want a natural answer to appease us.

I’m also reminded of what we refer to as ‘The Lord’s Prayer’:

Matthew 6:9-10 NIV This, then, is how you should pray: “’Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.’”

May God’s response be received by us all as we truly desire to hear what He wants to say.
