#3713 – Follow Me

Good morning people who are chased down by the goodness of God

Psalm 23:6 NIV Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

“Follow Me” is a very well-known statement of Jesus. When He walked the earth, He called people to leave all and follow Him. His invitation is the same for every person today.

Yet I love the picture that this powerful verse paints for us.

Yes, we are called to follow Jesus, but with this call comes a promise that His goodness and love will follow us as we follow Him!

Again, we must not equate this with ease and living a challenge-free life! No! We need to handle the Word of God correctly, and a blessed life is not the absence of challenges or enemies – it is the presence of God!

And David writes that even through the darkest valley and the presence of his enemies – and he had a few – he also had a conviction that God was still following him with His constant goodness and love.

It might not have always looked like it. The situation could be interpreted differently. The evidence at times was overwhelmingly against him…

…but David had a conviction, and so must we.

“I will follow Jesus” = His goodness and love will follow me!

Now that’s good news!
