#3626 – Humble Obedience

Good morning people who keep in step with the Spirit of the living God

I encourage you to read and meditate on Jonah chapter 3. Over the next few days, I feel to highlight a few powerful truths that we see in this wonderful chapter.

Jonah 3:1-5 NIV Then the word of the Lord came to Jonah a second time: “Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.” Jonah obeyed the word of the Lord and went to Nineveh. Now Nineveh was a very large city; it took three days to go through it. Jonah began by going a day’s journey into the city, proclaiming, “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown.” The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.

Here’s two things I see as I meditate on this wonderful passage:

Our simple words of obedience to what God tells us to do can turn a city around.

Revival doesn’t come from our much, but from our humble obedience.

God does the work in people’s lives, but we have the incredible privilege and responsibility to partner with Him.

Like I said yesterday, it’s not about us saying what we want to say, but about us being obedient to what God tells us to say and do.

“Is there something Father is asking you to do today that could have a huge impact in other people’s lives?”
