#3611 – Affecting Others

Good morning people whose lives positively or negatively affect other people

Wow, so much to see in the Book of Jonah!

Jonah 1:4-6 NIV Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up. All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship. But Jonah had gone below deck, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep. The captain went to him and said, “How can you sleep? Get up and call on your god! Maybe he will take notice of us so that we will not perish.”

Here’s what I see today:

Our disobedience affects other people.

We live in times of unbelievable self-centredness and entitlement. For many, decisions are made on what they perceive is best for themselves, regardless of the affect it has on other people.

This should not be the case for God’s people!

God’s own example to us is exemplified in John 3:16God loved us so much, that He gave His best for us, so that we can live free.

“Do our lives follow the example of the Father and the Son?”

I feel some of you are about to make some decisions, and I believe you need to stop and ask this question above.

I pray the people of God reverse the trend that is rampant in the world today, and that as a result of our obedience to what God has said, our lives positively affect people and empower others towards God. This is my prayer today.
