#3568 – Abram’s Response

Good morning people who look up and see what Father is showing you

Please have a read of the following well known passage and see if you can see a similar flow of moving from naturally seeing to spiritually seeing.

Genesis 15:1-6 NIV After this, the word of the Lord came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward.” But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.” Then the word of the Lord came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.” He took him outside and said, “LOOK up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Abram believed the Lord, and He credited it to him as righteousness.

We celebrate Abram being the father of our faith and that He believed God, but that’s not where it started.

At first Abram – like many others – struggled. When he clearly heard what God said, he struggled to believe, as evidenced by his response based on his reality: “You have given me no children”. In effect, he was saying, “How can this be?”

“So, what shifted Abram to faith?”

When God took him outside, told him to look up and gave him a prophetic picture of what He was saying!

I could be wrong, but I think there might have been a moment in between God telling Abram and then Him showing Abram – a moment of moving from naturally seeing what God had said, to spiritually seeing what God had said.

May Father open our spiritual eyes to see today, in Jesus’ Name.
