Good morning family of God
We are privileged to be a part of the greatest family on earth; God’s precious family. We are not just ‘acquaintances’ of God but we are now ‘family’. What a privilege! What a joy!
Is there any way we can feel closer to Him? Yes there is and it’s a simple formula that, although it takes a lot of self-discipline, is worth keeping in mind today.
Luke 8:19-21 Now Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see Him, but they were not able to get near Him because of the crowd. Someone told Him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see You.” He replied, “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s Word and put it into practice.”
It’s not complicated and it doesn’t change. It can be summed up in this simple phrase; ‘hear and obey’. Oh how powerful this is yet at times it seems so hard to do. This alone is the key to intimacy with God and living life with purpose and the smile of God. Listening to the Word is not enough; we must put it into practice. Working hard and doing lots of good things is not enough; we must be busy in what God has asked us to do. ‘Hear and obey’
