#3537 – Much Fruit

Good morning people who abide in Christ and produce fruit as evidence

One of Dad’s questions to me about being IN CHRIST, and abiding in Him is, “What does ‘abiding IN CHRISTactually look like

This is a question that could very easy become a wrong focus. In our desire to see this as Father sees it, we must not default to prescribing exactly how this looks; to creating a formula or a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

People abide in God in different ways. We are all uniquely created and we all relate differently. Therefore, we need to guard against elitism and superiority, but also equally against intimidation and inferiority.

But there is something in this verse that Father says it applies to us all.

John 15:5 NIV I (Jesus) am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in Me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from Me you can do nothing.

The evidence of the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23) and the evidence of the fruit of doing the work that Father has called us to do (Ephesians 2:10) is an accurate and God-determined evidence of someone who truly abides IN CHRIST.

A note of caution here:

The fruit of the Spirit is more easily visible to us all – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, faithfulness and self-control. We can all see the evidence of these or the lack of these in other people.

However, the fruit of doing the good works Father has prepared for an individual to do can only truly be measured by the God Who alone knows what He has said to a person.

For someone reading this, I feel Father say, “Don’t judge another person’s assignment.”

May we all be fruitful people.
