Good morning people whose God is Forgiving
Matthew 9:6a (GNB) I will prove to you, then, that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.
Forgiveness is one of the most difficult concepts to grasp. We understand paying for our sins, but being forgiven completely and given the right to move on, that’s not how we naturally think.
God has the authority to forgive us from all of our sins, but He also has the power to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). It is an amazing thing to be both forgiven and clean.
Many times we have trouble forgiving ourselves. I know this is a real challenge for me at times. I can accept that God has forgiven me, but the reality is I find it difficult to allow myself to move on. This is something that I am on a journey with and maybe you are too. I’ve mentioned this verse before but it really is a powerful truth when it comes to being forgiven and free in Christ.
Romans 12:1b (Message) Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.
God’s forgiveness is available to all who will humble themselves and ask God for it. We must reach out and receive it and then walk forward from a place of cleanness because of what God has done for us. When the enemy comes in and accuses us, we need to boldly declare “It is written; God has forgiven me and I stand before Him clean”.
“Father, thank You for total forgiveness from all of my sins. Today I receive it completely and I ask that you help me to see myself as You see me. I also pray You help me to freely forgive all those that do me wrong; help me to forgive others in the same way You have forgiven me.”
